What’s involved with professional dental cleanings?

Our kind and experienced dental hygienist will examine your teeth and gums, and ensure that plaque and tartar are effectively and safely removed with specialized dental instruments. Our hygienist will then polish and floss your teeth to remove any remaining plaque and bacteria before adding fluoride to strengthen and protect your teeth.

Should there be cause for concern, we may also recommend that one or more x-rays be taken to evaluate the health of your teeth, gums, and/or jawbone.

What benefits are associated with undergoing regular professional cleanings?

There are many! Not only do they help keep your teeth and gums healthy, but they can also help prevent tooth decay, gum disease, and other health issues related to oral hygiene. Professional cleanings can also remove surface stains caused by food and drinks, so you’ll have a brighter smile, too!

Who is a candidate for professional cleanings?

Everyone! In general, patients are advised to have a professional cleaning performed every six months. However, if you have a higher risk of dental issues, including cavities or gum disease, our experts may advise that you undergo more frequent cleanings.
